Ever wondered about the life of a crime scene investigator? Teens and tweens are invited to the Tecumseh Public Library on Thursday, March 18 at 2pm to participate in a workshop called “CSI: The Science of Solving Crimes on the Go.” The program will teach about DNA profiling, fingerprint and handwriting analysis, and other work that crime scene investigators do on the spot. Teens will arm themselves with a microscope, set of latex gloves, and their attention to detail to solve a crime.
"CSI: The Science of Solving Crimes on the Go" is an addition to this year’s The Big Read: The Maltese Falcon. The program is sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts and will be instructed by the Science Museum of Oklahoma.
The Big Read is an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts, designed to restore reading to the center of American culture. The goal of the program is to encourage whole communities to read and discuss a single book. This year’s choice for The Big Read is Dashiell Hammett’s The Maltese Falcon.
This workshop is designed for ages 10 to 18. Registration is required. To register or to find out about other Big Read programs at the Tecumseh library, call the library at 598-5955.
