Shawnee-area families can get together for game time, as the Shawnee Public Library hosts a Family Game Night at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 9, in Community Room A/B at the library, 101 N. Philadelphia Ave.
Among the games and activities will be a Nintendo Wii, Playstation2, card games, puzzles and old-fashioned board games.
Registration is not required.

Adults looking for their next great read are invited to get some tips from an expert at 7 p.m. Monday, July 19, in Community Room A/B at the Shawnee Public Library.
Cindy Stevens, a selector with the Center for Readers Services with the Pioneer Library System, will share some of her favorite authors, discuss their styles and some of the books they have written and offer other ideas.

The Book Buzz Brunch Bunch gets together for its monthly discussion at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 16, at the Shawnee Public Library.
Attendees at this informal book discussion group share what they are currently reading or have just finished.

The Book Buzz Brunch Bunch meets for its monthly book discussion at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 18, in the Shawnee Public Library’s conference room.
