It’s the middle of summer, and the Shawnee Library is a great place to relax, cool off, enjoy a special program, or find a good book to read!
Children’s Summer Reading Program, Be Creative at the Library, continues on July 2 with “Wiggle Your Nose and Touch Your Toes”, a special creative movement program which involves music, dancing, games and activities for children ages 3-6.
On July 7, all children will enjoy “All about Irish Dancers” presented by local performers and on July 9, “Finding Voices, Creating Stories” will feature storyteller Valerie Kimble, using puppets, props, and funny voices to entertain us.
Magician Steve Crawford will bring his “Circus of the Arts” to the library on July 14, when the audience will enjoy the arts of balloon sculpture, chapeaugraphy, improve, storytelling and juggling.
On July 16, “Creative Critters” will feature five live animals which will demonstrate their use of colors, voices and movements in the natural world and all children are invited to our End-of-the-Summer movie on July 23.
