Magician Jim Green will astound children with his magic shows as part of the Pioneer Library System’s summer reading program for children, “Be Creative @ Your Library.” Green will appear for the McLoud Public Library, at the American Legion Hall, Thursday, July 9, at 11 a.m.

Green learned his first magic tricks to impress and entertain his grandchildren. Since then he has been sharing his love of illusions with audiences of all ages.

Green calls magic a profession, hobby and art. While some magicians prefer to guard their secrets, Green instead chooses to teach aspiring young illusionists how to perform tricks of their own. His programs are highly interactive and educational.

The programs are free and open to the public. The Children’s Summer Reading Program is part of a state-wide reading initiative developed by the Oklahoma Department of Libraries and offered state-wide with the support of Sonic—America’s Drive In, Corp., The Oklahoman, Institute of Museum and Library Services, and locally with the support of The Anne & Henry Zarrow Foundation, Hitachi Computer Products (America), Inc., the Oklahoma Arts Council, Pioneer Library System, and Friends of the Library.
