Purcell Library - Needs Chip Bags

Purcell - Check this out!

Just so you know logoYour hometown Purcell Public Library is in need of assistance. On February 23, we are doing a wonderful recycling craft event - but we don't have enough supplies!

We are in need of clean empty potato chip bags. They can be large or snack-size, baked or fried, fruit or veggie - we aren't picky - as long as they are clean of chips and trash.

If you find you are in possession of an empty chip bag please drop it off at the Purcell Public Library by February 22, and then be sure to register to participate for this great recycling craft project.

Thanks!

Purcell - Key Ingredients

Harvey House

The Harvey House Restaurant in Purcell was a staple in the early train depot in the town.

The restaurant was one of many throughout the early days in the Wild West, and was famous for its food, its class atmosphere and the refined young ladies chosen to serve customers.

The restaurants were remembered in a 1946 movie based on the Samuel Hopkins Adams novel, “The Harvey House Girls.” The Purcell Public Library will show the movie at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, in the Meeting Room of the library, 919 N. 9th St.
